Where Are The Pictures?
Hi Everyone
Good to see those who managed to make it to the gig. Where are the photos Kim? Too busy buying and wrapping prezzies I suspect!

Chatching Up!
Hi All
Don't get on the coputer that often, it's a fight with my husband who is obsessed with a game and is disillusioned with the evening telly these days ( although I am with him on that one......Celebrities?!???!!!??!)
Things are pretty much the same as usual here too. George comes home every Friday with increasingly more muddy clothes as the winter marches on! Tom is really enjoying his apprenticeship and comes home with new tales every day, although not as many new hair cuts as I thought he would.
Stacie ( my adopted daughter) has started a hairdressing apprenticeship in a west end salon(Head Masters). The travelling is killing her but she seems to be enjoying it.
I have started a new job and now run the breakfast and after school club at Vigo primary school, most of the kids seem cute so far and it's great to be home from work in 5 minutes!!
Oh, and Lee has decided to decorate the hall, stairs and landing from Monday..... what is he thinking this close to Christmas??
Love to all

Ooh, ooh, me too!
Hope everyone is well and gearing up for the upcoming festive season. You're right Paul, it has been more than a bit quiet here - guess we're all guilty there! Nice try with the meal, I think you're probably right about leaving it until early in the New Year. Good idea about meeting up at Mark's pre-Xmas gig, we'll certainly try to make that one.
Over at the Surrey branch of the family tree things have been pretty quiet. We're popping down (or is it across?) to Bristol soon to see Lauren and she'll be coming back for the holidays shortly after so that will be nice. Elena seems to having a amazingly packed social calendar ever since moving schools for 6th Form and doesn't show any signs of easing up in the run-up to Christmas, obviously! For me, things have been pretty hectic at work for the last few weeks with going 'live' with a new computer system for the whole of pathology. It's not been without a few serious problems so that has meant late nights (and some very early mornings!). Caroline has been doing really well getting pressies sorted out; we are going to risk Bluewater on Friday - wish us luck!
Anyway, hope to see you all very soon.

Drunken gig
A big thanks to everyone for making the long journey over last night. It was lovely to see you all there. Went back to Martin's house after and sat in the garden drinking brandy till 4 in the morning watching Kim taking a couple of the girls through one of her aerobics workouts in stiletto's! [the girls were wearing the stiletto's ].
Anyway hope to catch up soon with all.

Marc & Mark (or is the other way round?)
I thought we might have to cry off the gig on the 19th 'cos friends of ours were having a going away party that day (they are emigrating to Australia) but it has been postponed (the party, that is, not the emigrating).
Which is a long way of saying, yes we'd love to come. Any more details, Mark? I think the girls would be interested as well - would there be any probs with Elena (nearly 17!).

Yep - I've been a bit lax too!
Honestly, I'm in front of the computer so much there's no excuse )-: Anyway, news from the Sutton chapter ...
We had two separate weeks away this summer - one in Kalkan in Turkey (v. hot but lovely) and one at Camber Sands (surprisingly good weather). Still haven't taken the photos off the camera yet, so you've all got that treat to come (-;
Two friends of ours are having a joint 50th birthday celebration soon with a weekend in Lyme Regis just for the adults, so that's to look forward too.
Lauren goes back to Uni in a couple of weeks starting her second year. She'll be getting into the real hands-on stuff this year so she's really looking forward to that.
Elena did very well with her GCSEs and we were very pleased. She got into Wallington *boys* school 6th form (yes!) to do her A levels because they did the subjects she wanted in the right 'combination'.
Mark - the gig sounds like a great idea, I'll certainly check calendars and let you know.
I've taken about 30 minutes to write this tiny message 'cos I've been distracted playing on-line games at the same time (who wants to act their age anyway!).
Anyway, speak to you all soon!!!

Hello
Been very lackadaisical on the blog front recently. Hope everyone is well. Shame we couldn't make it for George's birthday. The gig went very well. Been asked to do another one there, on the 19th of Sept. If anyone fancies it, it's at the North Star pub in Leytonstone. Would be great to see anyone.
We must all get together again soon. The old Tower arms must be back up and running now.
Currently nursing a hangover from last night. Was at a barbie which conveniently had a music studio at the bottom of the garden. Ended up with about twenty people in it, in the early hours of this morning, playing anything they could get they're hands on. Awful racket, but great fun! not sure if their neighbors enjoyed it as much though........

I'm not with it yet!!!
Just pressed the wrong button....and posted before I typed!
Thanks for comming to celebrate Georges birthday everyone, He says thanks for the prezzies, he shouldn't run out of T-shirts any time soon. He's gonna need them at college as 16 year olds don't know much about washing machines ( they wear jeans and t-shirts and wake them up in the mornings, don't they?)
Have to get together again very soon, with Mark and Kim too............how did the gig go Mark?

Vandals from the woods
Thursday, 16 July 2009
Obvious question!
Ruth - Might seem a bit of a silly question but why are you trapping squirrels in the first place? Are you being besieged or something?
Tuesday, 14 July 2009
OMG! what now?
Have trapped our first squirrel over night. It is still in the trap, as all thoughts of shooting it have gone out of the window( just for the record I was never keen on this option!). All the bravado has disappeared and we are now talking to woods 10 miles away for it to make new friends!!!! Men eh?

Hello all. Apologies for the lack of blog activity on my part. No excuses really, but have been rehearsing a fair bit lately for a few gigs coming up. Have an interesting one next sat. the evening before our lunch, with a band at the Grosvenor Hotel park lane in the main ballroom. Its some type of sports charity do. Was'nt going to name drop but can't resist it. Apparantly Imran Khan is doing a speech, some of the india and pakistan cricket team are going to be there, and much to Kim's delight(who's blagged her and her friend in) there's a rumor that Richard Gere is going to be there, but i'll beleive that when i see it.
Anyway looking forward to our get together on sunday. Hope everyone is well. Mark x

You didn't miss the Christening 'cos it didn't go ahead...very complicated story which I'm sure they will tell you...pencilled in for August bank holiday now in the hope of everyone being able to make it.
How about this fantastic sunshine then...how many of you have sunburn???

Thanks Paul
Thanks for sorting this out for us. I got the postcode you sent (SS13 1BW - handy for the sat nav) here is a link to a map. I couldn't find a piccy or a review - is it the same sort of place as the one we went to at Christmas?
Incidentally, how did the christening go, Andy? Got any photo's for us?

Update from Carshalton
Wow, Paul - 'nothing much happening' except a 60 mph crash! Are you OK - was anyone else in the car? Mind you, a bit of an up-market courtesy car is always a 'silver lining'.
We drove Lauren back to Bristol last Sunday so we had a bit of quiet one this weekend. We got to play a couple of games of Wits & Wagers at a 'gathering' round a friends house on Saturday.
![](http://images.boardgamegeek.com/images/pic96548_t.jpg)
Considering the weather was supposed to be pretty 'naff' I though it turned out OK. Played tennis this morning - I even got to put a coat of white masonry paint on the garage that we had rendered last summer and it 's been looking a *very* unattractive concrete colour ever since!
Elena did her GCSE Art practical exam this week. I think we've got a picture of the final piece - I'll try posting it. It's a sort of modern triptych with 3 pictures of a person (Caroline's grandad as it happens) at 3 different ages.

Stage & Screen
The weekend of 14th was a fun one for us. On Saturday Caroline and I went up to town to see Twelfth Night starring Derek Jacobi. It was excellent - I hadn't seen this particular Shakespeare before. In fact, I say 'starring', Derek Jacobi's part wasn't the lead although he was very good. Viola, the female lead, was played by Victoria Hamilton who is in Larkrise to Candleford (the younger of the two sisters in the dress shop).
Then on Sunday, a whole bunch of us went to see Slumdog Millionaire which was *brilliant* - I can perfectly understand how it won so many awards at the Oscars.
Back at home, our house is rather full of sofas at the moment! We've bought a new two-piece suite but I'm having problems getting rid of the old one. I got as far as selling it on eBay but then the buyer disappeared of the radar. I put it back for a 'second chance' offer whereby the second place bidder get first option on it but they never got back to me either. Local charity shops don't seem too keen so I'll give eBay another bash, otherwise it looks like I'll be paying someone to take away. Sigh )-;
