Any belated greetings gratefully received

Ruth - glad to see you're feeling slightly less frazzled a.t.m. Sorry to hear about the throat - 'spect you'll throw it off soon enough.

We've just got back from our 550 mile triangular road trip, London-Bristol-Liverpool-London. Exhausting but both interesting and valuable. These uni visits definitely helped sort out a few things in our minds (i.e. us as parents and more importantly, Lauren's). I knew Bristol was really nice and wasn't disappointed. There was a course there that is just about *perfect* as a 'plan B' so that was worthwhile. Liverpool was really great, the people were *so* friendly and the whole atmosphere of the city was really 'buzzing'. I think Lauren was really taken with the place both in terms of the course AND the place itself.

Looks like me and Ruth are the only contributors right now - come on chaps, we can't do it all on our own. Anyway, this old bloke is off to bed, it's way past my bedtime, there's only so much of the M6 that one person can take in 2 days )-;

I put it down to dementia

I can't beleive I forgot your birthday Simon. Did anyone else remember? For future reference:
Simon 27th June
Mark 12th August
Ruth 12th October
Andy & Paul 17th October

Came down with a sore throat lergy on Sunday......still suffering.....Who passed that on with all the kissing then? Finally got the tent packed away yesterday, I'm feeling much calmer now and I'm sure the neighbours are pleased. Looks like we may have a buyer for our house, fingers crossed. Hope someone else posts soon looking forward to hearing everyones news. Bye for now.

Beaten to the punch

You'd have thought, what with being designated administrator for this groundbreaking website, that I'd have actually got the privilege of making the first post (0; But our 'early adoptor' Ruth got there first. Good on ya! I will be sending out 'invites' to Mark and Paul (i.e. the remaining siblings that actually have email addresses a.t.m.) and await news of Andrew's reconnection to cyberspace with bated breath!

Yes, Saturday was great fun and suitably embarrassing for our kids. Let's face it, along with the memories that was one of major attractions of the whole 'slide show' thing! It was the fact that we all had so much to catch up that made me think this 'blog' would be useful and/or entertaining.

Anyway, a little update from the Surrey branch is that we'll be tripping off on a 2-day road trip at the end of the week to look at Uni's for Lauren. I guess in the age of easy-peasy international travel we are all probably as guilty as each other of ignoring great chunks of our own country but even so, at my age, it seems amazing that I have never been to neither Bristol nor Liverpool. Oh well, should be fun and I'll report back! Might even get some pictures up!

That reminds me - did anyone get any photos on Saturday? Might be interesting! Also, I wonder if folks have heard of a way of getting slides 'digitised' - that'd be good.
